Community and Safety Updates
President Brooks informed the team about the passing of community member Ms. Ivy. She also discussed a disruptive car accident on New Hampshire Avenue.
Sophia Tekola discussed flu shots, Covid boosters, and the Juvenile Curfew Enforcement Pilot Program aimed at young people's safety.
Lenora Fuller-McCall stressed the need for evidence of the curfew pilot program’s success, especially in Ward 4.
President Brooks also emphasized that while crime rates have increased, they are still lower than in years past.
Initiatives, Deadlines, and Events
Sophia Tekola outlined deadlines for the dual enrollment program and upcoming events like the Open Streets on Georgia Avenue, the DC hiring fair for veterans, and a shredding event.
Infrastructure and Cleanliness Concerns
Alvin Owens raised issues about tree maintenance and sidewalk cleanliness under train tracks on Riggs Road.
President Brooks mentioned prior reports to DPW and suggested National Park Service might be responsible.

Planning and Community Involvement
President Brooks, Andrew McGill, and Lenora Fuller-McCall are planning a festival for May 4th with a focus on reintroducing the organization to the community.

Sophia Tekola agreed to look into construction regulations, and the team discussed the need for better traffic enforcement.
